Directions

The University’s main campus is in the west end of Glasgow, about 2 miles from the city centre. It can be a pleasant walk but there are a variety of transport options to get from the city centre to the University, including buses, subway (Hillhead station is a short walk away), taxis and uber.

The University’s travel guide can get you to the Kelvin Building, a pdf map is here. The School of Physics and Astronomy has another map here.

From University Avenue, the Kelvin building, home of the School of Physics & Astronomy, is the white/limestone building near the “Botany Gate”. This is either a short walk up from Byres Road or down the hill from the University’s main building, the neo-gothic Gilbert Scott Building.

Note that parking in the area around the university is rather limited, and is paid (via machine or app). It is even harder to park on campus.
