Practical Details

School Information

The course will consist of a number of lectures which will cover both Core Material and more Specialised Topics. Social events and an afternoon devoted to public engagement of science will build cohort spirit and explore the Impacts, both curiosity-driven and economic/technological, of solar system plasma science.

The School starts on Sunday evening with Ice-breaker (13/09/2015) and ends Friday afternoon (18/09/2015). All lectures will be in Room 323 in the Kelvin Building, University of Glasgow.

Accommodation:  All registered students (see list of attendees) have been booked to Glasgow Pond hotel. The hotel is paid directly by STFC/University of Glasgow, so all you need is to arrive to the hotel. We expect that all of you will check-in on Sunday afternoon before ~6pm.  The Hotel is 25-30 min walk from the University of Glasgow.  Directions can be found here.

School registration will start around 18:30 on Sunday at the Pond Hotel followed by Ice-breaker/reception at 19:00. Please note food will be provided as well.

Dinner will be at the Pond Hotel every night at 19:00 except the school dinner that will be at Balbirs Restaurant at 19:00 on Thursday. Directions from the Kelvin Building can be found here.

School excursion will be on Wednesday to the Glasgow Science Centre. A bus will provide transport to and from GSC and departure will be from the Kelvin Building after the afternoon lecture.

Travel expenses: Please bring all receipts related to the School, you will be given a claim form, so that you can post the claim directly to STFC.
