E.5 Other supporting software

This distribution primarily consists of SGML materials - that is, the DTDs and associated DSSSL stylesheets. It also relies on the Jade DSSSL engine, suitably patched, and the dvi2bitmap package (to help generate the GIFs used when displaying maths on the web. See Appendix E.7 for further details of obtaining and building these.

As well as these supporting applications, which must be obtained and installed separately, there is some auxiliary software distributed with the package itself. This is located in $STARLINK_SGML_DIR/lib.

img-eqlist.pl

This post-processes the file produced by the img.maths mode of $STARLINK_SGML_DIR/dsssl/sl/html/slmaths.dsl. See the file header for further documentation.

abstract-star2html.pl

A Perl script which does a simple but robust parse of LaTeX files suitable for the Star2HTML system, generating DocumentSummary documents. See Appendix E.2, and the detailed documentation in abstract-star2html.pl .

plainhtml.bst and plainlatex.bst

These are BibTeX style files used by the BibTeX step in the common makefile.

postprocess-bbl.sed

This postprocesses the bibliography file produced by plainhtml.bst, rejoining the long lines which BibTeX erroneously splits.

Appendix E.4 includes a selection of the more important DSSSL code modules.
