• The XML pages at the Oasis SGML repository.
• xml.org hosts the xml-dev mailing list. Digests: XML-Deviant is a summary of highlights from (primarily) xml-dev, as is eclectic.
• IBM has a development site at <http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com>. It contains a collection of XML technologies which looks like I'd profit from investigating. See also my maths pages for TeXML.

• Free Java XML parser: Ælfred, from Microstar
• Norman Walsh on Converting an SGML DTD to XML, and on If You Can Name It, You Can Claim It! (catalogs in XML).
• Simon St Laurent essays on XML.
• Macmillan pages supporting the book Presenting XML includes some XML resources.
• News story (17 Mar 1998), Perl Opens Arms to XML, talking about enhancements to Perl to make it deal with XML more naturally.
• JUMBO is an XML browser/editor.
• HyBrick is an SGML/XML browser with XLink/XPointer support. Unfortunately, it's only available for Windows.
• The Document With Style kit is a browser add-on for DSSSL formatting of SGML and XML documents. It currently (Feb 1999) works with MSIE, but Mozilla support is promised. From the same source, an account of the Talva SGML/XML Kit, which includes notes on converting to HTML+CSS.
• Arbortext have a collection of XML resources, including XML for managers
• Hâkon Lie and Bert Bos' Using XSL and CSS together, a W3C note. See also James Tauber's XSL Templates by Example.
• Perl-XML at CPAN. See, particularly, XML::Grove - Groves for XML (whoopee!).
• Pyxie: XML processing library for Python.

• Sun have released OpenOffice, as an open-source version of the StarOffice office application. It uses (well it will use, when the final version is released) XML as a native format. See also the description at xml.com.

• Resource Directory Description Language (RDDL). `A Resource Directory provides a text description of some class of resources and of individual resources related to that class. It also contains a directory of links to these related resources'
