The cartoon

The original cartoon describing the revolutionary revision of our ideas about how jets arise, and therefore how microflares and perhaps (shudder) nanoflares might as well. Here the novelty is the involvement of a filament-channel magnetic geometry, as later elaborated in more elegant cartoons. Alternative reviews, including revanchist attempts to resuscitate the emerging flux scenario also exist. But this picture has the best observational support, it seems.
