Invited Review: Short-term Variability with the Observations from the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) Onboard the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO): Insights into Flare Magnetism

      This cartoon has problems that limit its explanatory power. First, the extra reconnection at lower right shows a red field line with only one footpoint - that's a no-no in flare cartooning. Second, the primary reconnection only shows one yellow field line as well (never mind that yellow is always hard to see). These two flaws are because the author imagines the other reconnected field line to be embedded in the flux rope itself.
