Recent Events

We run a wide variety of events, to a huge range of different audiences.

In March 2013 and March 2014 we ran a number of events for National Science and Engineering Week, including co-organising the Royal Philsophical Society of Glasgow Kelvin Lecture, by Sir Martin Rees.

In January 2013 and January 2014 we helped to organise BBC Scotland's flagship events for BBC Stargazing Live, which in 2013 attracted more than 4500 people to Glasgow's Botanical gardens for an evening of lectures, exhibitions, planetarium shows, and observing through state-of-the-art telescopes.

In October 2012 we also co-organised a multimedia concert and lecture by renowned composer Andrea Centazzo, about the exciting new field of Gravitational Wave Astronomy, entitled Einstein's Cosmic Messengers.

We have also ran several events (some in outdoor venues across the region) exploring the exciting history and Scotland's vital role in the discovery of Cosmic rays, via the Cosmic Way Roadshow.

From lectures and art-science spectaculars, to hands-on science fun days and workshops, we have events to suit everyone.

We will post photos and movies from other recent events on this page, so come back regularly to find out what we have been up to!
