On September 19th and 20th 2014 we are hosting a new science festival in Ardfern, Argyll, on the West coast of Scotland.
With core funding from the Scottish Governnment, Ardfern Science Festival will be held in Craignish Village Hall and will feature a range of fun events and activities for all ages.
The main public events are:
Friday 19th Sep, 8pm. Public lecture
Exploring the dark side of the Universe

Followed by stargazing with state-of-the-art telescopes (weather permitting).
Saturday 20th Sep, 10am-6pm.
"Out of this world" family fun day
A fun-filled day of hands-on science activities, exhibits and events for all the family, including:
- See the stars in our Mobile planetarium
- Molecule building and molecule hunting
- "Meet marine aliens" with the team from SAMS
- Explore our Cosmic Way roadshow and Powers of 60 exhibition
- Build your own rocket!
- Watch our fun sci-fi movie screenings
All events are free!!
Organised by the British Science Assocation West Scotland Branch, in association with the University of Glasgow, the Society of Biology, the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Scottish Association for Marine Science, the Festival will also include schools events for Craignish Primary School on Friday during the day.
