XQuery is a language to
extract data from XML documents. It differs in emphasis from XPath,
in that XQuery is for extracting data, where XPath is for addressing
nodes in an XML document, for transformation purposes. I'm still
vague about exactly how substantial that difference is, but I
understand that a goal of XQuery is to be optimised for the
manipulation of very large amounts of data. Erm....
