RDF and the Semantic Web

Quite sketchy link collection. More should appear here anon.

The *Semantic Web is a proposed set of facilities to add machine-intelligible semantics to the web (describable as `encoding metadata using XML syntax', but it's more than that at heart). The main activity within this is *RDF. *Tim Berners-Lee's Scientific American article contains a vivid scenario.

Briefings on RDF (quite old now) from :UKOLN and *D-Lib magazine.
