The cosmic ray location tasks flag the locations of the bad pixels in a quality frame which is associated with the data frame concerned. The pixels themselves are left unchanged.
To allow the visual inspection of the Cosmic Ray locations both tasks create a 'cleaned' image frame in which all cosmic ray pixels have been replaced by the local 'magic value'.
