Specifies the degree of polynomial to use when trying to fit to the object intensity at any single X- (lambda-) increment.
Normally, a model of the profile is formed by averaging subsamples from all orders. The polynomial model (per increment) should only be used when the profile varies markedly along an order due to atmospheric or instrumental peculiarities.
The default value is 0.
