Function

Locate and flag cosmic-ray contaminated pixels.

Summary

This routine uses two orthogonal median filters (whose dimensions are controlled using TUNE_CRXBOX and TUNE_CRYBOX) to calculate smoothed copies of the image. These are then divided into the original and the resulting array is histogrammed. The histogram is then presented for selection of the point above which to clip points. This method works well when there are lots of cosmic-ray events as the clip point is easy to see. The ech_decos2 option/task provides a more CPU-intensive method which may work better when there are fewer cosmic-ray events.
