This is a temporary holding page for the purl.org/astronomy/ont domain.
purl.org is a facility which provides long-term persistence for URLs, by supporting managed and maintainable URL rewriting. It originated within the library community a decade or so ago, and has had quiet success in various archival communities.
The page you're looking at has the PURL
http://purl.org/astronomy/ont.
That URL currently redirects to this
page, and when it becomes clear where this page should live long-term, the same
URL will redirect there instead. Norman Gray registered the
/astronomy/ont `domain' (that's `domain' in purl terms, not DNS terms)
in May 2012.
The immediate motivation is to support long-term URLs for astronomy vocabularies, which will live in a subdomain of this one. Updates on that soon.
