University of Glasgow letter template, including logo
Version 2.4, 2018 December 09.
This distribution includes the gulogo package, which
provides some simple support for displaying and positioning the
University logo, and defining various colours. It is designed to be useful for other
applications beyond the guletter class, such as
LaTeX posters or other
documents. See gulogo.pdf for
documentation. The gulogo package is relatively
low-level, so may take more TeX knowledge to use.
The gulogo package is available for download as a
separate package. The guletter download includes it, however, so you
don’t have to download it separately, if it’s the letter style you’re
looking for.

tarball or
zip fileTo install this package, copy the guletter.cls,
gulogo.sty, and the gulogo_*.pdf and
gulogo_*.eps files to
‘somewhere LaTeX can find them’. One way is simply to deposit
the files in the same directory as the source file, but if you want to
install them more ‘properly’, here's how.
You need to put the files somewhere on the TeX input
path. This might be some location such as
$HOME/local/texmf/latex/guletter (the unix command
kpsepath tex will give a long list of possibilities;
there will be an analogous command on Windows systems). Then re-index
the style files with the command mktexlsr or sudo
mktexlsr. You can verify that LaTeX can see the files with the
command kpsewhich guletter.cls – that should return the
path to the guletter.cls file which LaTeX will use.
[headedpaper] option to
[useheadedpaper], while adding the new
[makeheadedpaper] option.\notelephone to positively suppress phone number.hyperref (which is usually redundant with this class).[draft] mode now produces a prominent DRAFT
marking on the document.[final] option.\signaturegraphic command.
Added [height] option to the gulogo package’s \GUlogo command.
Fixed \pounds (but I’ve said that before).\GUlockup macro.\departmentlogotext option, and use in
department-specific options, so that departments now get their names
in the logo, rather than only the faculty.\department can be any
organisational unit, not just bona fide departments. Other
documentation tweaks..eps file is now mildly
preprocessed, and is much smaller. The rule beside the logo is now
correctly positioned even if the text has descenders.\GUlogo
command, which allows you to set the width and side-text of the logo,
and place it in a TeX box. Note that the interface in the gulogo
class has therefore changed from v2.0b2, which in turn was different
from that in versions before 2.0.[Foo] will load file Foo.clo if it is
present, to support multiple roles
