Evolution of MeV electrons in a coronal magnetic trap

We employ MacKinnon's (1991) treatment of electron collisional evolution in magnetic traps to comment on conditions under which bright, looptop microwave sources may be obtained. Application will be made, as far as possible, to the Nobeyama observations of Melnikov and co-workers.
