A colorful illustration of two geometries for injecting solar energetic particles (SEPs) into the heliosphere. This view offers more possibilities than the basic Cliver cartoon, specifically in allowing for various connectivities and for clearly distinguishing CME and jet processes. These, the Archivist suggests, involve perpendicular and parallel plasma motions, respectively, and are thus quite different physically. This paper argues that the classical CSHKP cartoon needs major revision as regards SEPs, but it is still in vigorous use for this purpose.
