The term "Hyder" flare re-neologizes the "disparition brusque" term long used for quiet-Sun eruptions. They don't have to erupt in any simple way. The paper compares asymmetrical and symmetrical filament eruptions, finding that the flare brightening follows the eruptive motion in detail. This therefore supports the standard model (CSHKP), and the cartoon here (see extends it to make this possible asymmetric development clearer.

In the paper one also will find many obscure acronyms, such as PFL, PEA, and PIL. Good luck to the reader!
