Quite far afield from the major theme of flare/CME physics, but illustrating an aspect of the corona seldom discussed in this context. Even refractory dust cannot exist in the baleful UV radiation near the Sun, but some molecules can. That is another subject seldom broached; both dust and molecules can play important diagnostic roles at least.
