A nice and tidy CSHKP cartoon incorporating the
multiple plasmoid described, for example, in the
Takasao cartoon.
Apparently one expects this behavior from the tearing-mode instability
operating on the reconnecting current sheet.
The paper makes use of
DPS ("Drifting Pulsating
Structure") radio observations to suggest bidirectional motions.
This is another cartoon inspired by
SOL2011-11-03.
