The layout of a computation of various mechanisms for particle acceleration in the context of trying to explain the long-duration gamma-ray events as observed in Cycle 25 by - fittingly - Fermi. Can turbulent re-acceleration be invoked to compensate for adiabatic cooling sufficiently to make this happen on open fields, or must one envision trapping?
