Here is a cartoon representing the impact of the solar wind upon the
terrestrial magnetosphere. It headlines "Reconnection" but the matters
discussed quickly get deeper into the subject than the average solar
cartoon: the S's represent entropies, and the paper freely discusses
not only that kind of exotica, but also
KAWs and
Kelvin-Helmholtz vortices.
Technically the Archivist likes this cartoon because of its hand-drawn appearance in
pastel colors; also it is noteworthy because it unusually places the Sun
to the right of the magnetosphere, where the Earth is represented as a
disk.
