This is an updated version of the classic

cartoon.
Here, as with the earlier version, one has to invoke some imagination as
regards the 3D structure of the all-important shock wave.
This version used a French curve template rather than a simple arc, but
the Archivist has the feeling that there is horrible and yet vital complexity
in the unseen geometry.
