This volume provides the first detailed account of Russian Space Biomedicine by one of the few Western scientists who fully understands Russian approaches and methods. Their concepts and research have always involved a heavily biophysical rather than a simple medical approach and Dr Hansson has made ten invited visits to Russian space biomedical research centres since 1986 to discuss detailed research plans with the Russians and study their results.
