Good home wanted: CX 25 DTR Turbo2

Good Points

  • Engine and all mechanics, except gearbox excellent
  • Head on engine only done 15k miles
  • New cambelt, front and (I think) rear disks/ pads
  • Newish spheres (approx 2 yrs old)
  • All hydraulic F-Rear and rear pipes replaced with Pleiades ones
  • Nice, light clutch, fairly recently replaced
  • Even the temperature gauges and clock work!

Bad points

  • Rusty!
  • Gearbox not great - you need to be good at double declutching, although it kind of adds to the fun... I have a spare gearbox to go with it
Thats about it really - It failed its MOT on rust, but only the LH sill - which is quite bad and there is also rust below the boot opening (not an MOT failure though). I sorted out the RH sill last year, so that is OK. The MOT expires 14th october. Also the handbrake needs adjusting . The rust on the upper body is fairly bad, but nothing too terminal. The rear 8" of the roof has been replaced, due to the normal rot round the tailgate. Unless the body is given some serious TLC I would not expect this car to last more than another year. Due to 2 small children (hence no time), and living in Glasgow with nowhere to weld out of the rain I am getting rid of it this year. I am very sad to see it go - It has been our only car for many years, and it is great fun to drive. Replacing it with an XM (2.5 TD)
