I'm a postdoctoral researcher funded by the STFC to work on the analysis of gravitational wave signals from second generation detectors. I work in the Institute for Gravitational Research at the University of Glasgow, which is part of the School of Physics and Astronomy. I'm also a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration.

My research interests focus around the use of statistical techniques to detect gravitational waves, and perform inference from the data which gravitational wave detectors such as Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo provide. I generally work on Bayesian techniques, machine learning algorithms, and non-parametric inference.

In addition to working to interpret data, I'm also actively involved in software development for both Advanced LIGO and for gravitational wave astrophysics purposes. You can find a selection of the projects I work on my code page, and also on my Github profile. These days I mostly find myself working with Python, but I also dabble in other languages like javascript and LaTeX.

When I'm not busy trying to learn more about the universe I try to teach other people about it, and I'm involved in a number of public communication of science programmes, including the production of graphics for LIGO outreach, and giving public talks about gravitational wave science. You can find a list of my upcoming talks here.
