Brief description
The aim of the project is to determine the instrumental profile
of a spectrometer and to apply a simple procedure to remove its
effects from recorded spectra.
A grating imaging spectrometer will be used with a CCD detector
to record spectra of laboratory sources and during the exercise,
experienced should be gained with the setting up of an optical instrument,
the recording of images with a CCD, the reduction of CCD spectral
data and the development of a computer algorithm to improve the
representation of spectral data.
