Brief description
How would your view of the world change is you travelled at a significant
fraction of the speed of light? The laws of optics need to be redefined.
This problem was first tackled systematically by James Terrell
(and simultaneously, for spheres, Roger Penrose) in 1959. You will
use Matlab to determine how rapidly moving objects appear distorted,
changed in colour and in brightness
If time and enthusiam permit, you can generate high quality images
using raytracing software such as POV-Ray.
