This is what a charged particle might do in the "likely noisy region" where magnetic reconnection is occurring at a steady-state X-type neutral point of the field. The behavior of the particle (red) is erratic and the paper comes to important conclusions about this, and to the Archivist's eye this is a graphic with that grabs the viewer very successfully.
